Overview
For this project, the goal was to design a collection of Discord emotes based on the main characters from The Legendary F-Rank. Zero Things wanted something playful that still captured the heart of each character, so I leaned fully into a chibi art style — oversized heads, exaggerated expressions, bright colour pops, and simple, iconic silhouettes.
I focused on making every emote instantly readable even at tiny sizes, which meant pushing facial expressions and gestures much further than usual. Each pose was chosen to reflect something unique about the character: calmness, mischief, intensity, sweetness, confidence, or pure chaotic energy. Lighting and shading were kept stylized and punchy to make sure they stayed crisp and vibrant on both light and dark Discord themes.

The Results
This set was just pure joy to create. Translating dramatic novel characters into cute little gremlins was such a refreshing shift, and it let me explore the expressive potential of chibi art while keeping everything polished and usable as actual emotes.
