Overview
The goal of this commission was to create a warm, expressive illustration of two Final Fantasy XIV characters, designed specifically as matching Discord profile pictures for the client and their friend. They provided reference images for their in-game avatars along with clear instructions regarding the pose, personality, and outfit details they wanted represented.
I started by sketching dynamic, friendly expressions and gestures that would connect the two portraits visually, even when separated. The client requested a bright, sunny atmosphere, so I incorporated soft sky lighting and airy highlights to give the piece a cheerful, uplifting energy.
Both characters included custom traits — such as the long bunny ears and specific clothing pieces — which I carefully adapted into a cohesive anime rendering style. I paid special attention to their hairstyles, accessories, and the playful interaction between them to capture their personalities authentically.

The Results
The final illustration delivers a polished pair of matching character portraits that feel lively, cute, and full of charm. Each profile works beautifully on its own, but together they form an even stronger composition — exactly what the client hoped for.
This project reinforces my strength in stylized character art, expressive posing, and client-guided customisation while still keeping a consistent, polished finish.
