Overview
This commission centered on transforming a real couple into stylized versions of their favorite Valorant characters. The client wanted something intimate, emotional, and full of that soft neon glow the game is known for. The goal was to capture not only the character designs themselves, but also the couple’s connection — their expressions, the closeness, and the mood.
I started with quick thumbnails to nail the pose and the overall emotional beat of the piece. Once the sketch was locked in, I focused on merging the couple’s real features with the essence of the characters they were cosplaying.
I played heavily with lighting and color — especially that signature Valorant teal-and-purple glow — to give the illustration a dramatic, game-inspired atmosphere. Layered glows, textured lighting, and subtle neon particles helped bring the scene to life and make the moment feel magical.

The Results
The final artwork blends stylized portraiture with game aesthetics, creating a piece that feels personal, heartfelt, and unmistakably Valorant. The couple’s expressions, enhanced by the vibrant lighting, give the illustration a cinematic, almost in-game cutscene quality.
It ended up being a warm, glowing tribute to both the characters and the relationship behind them.
